Different ways of using Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Lotion

Jun12

Hi friends of the NUTT (",)

I'd like to share the 3 different ways that i use the highly raved Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Lotion.  It was Hada Labo's 'One Drop Locks Up the Ocean' tagline that made me pick up a bottle.

I've been on an organic skincare regime for about 2 years, but on and off, i make a slight U-turn and succumb to commercial raves.  I've tried several different lotions mainly from Japanese brands.   They basically hydrate the skin and preps it for moisturiser.

So, let me start sharing the 3 ways that i make use of the Hada Labo lotion.

Method 1: The Hada Labo 'press the lotion into your skin' way.

After pressing the lotion into the skin, i use a moisturiser.

Method 2: Lotion mask for face

A lotion mask is not something new in my skincare regime.  Ever since a friend of mine lent me Chizu Saeki's The Japanese Skincare Revolution book in 2009, i've tried to use a lotion mask at least once a week.  Previously, i've used Shiseido's Eudermine for my lotion mask.  It is a revitalizing essence which is something that i LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Vivawoman posted a video showing the DIY Lotion Mask Demo by Chizu Saeki.  If you're interested, it's really worth taking a look. Chizu Saeki used cotton pads for the mask but i personally prefer getting the mask sheets from Muji which is about $1.90 for 6 sheets coz it's less of a hassle.

I like the fact that i get to control the amount of lotion that i pour onto the mask.  With pre-packed facial sheets, very often they are drenched with lotion & it can get messy.

Method 3: Lotion for body.

I press the lotion into my skin before applying moisturiser.  I have very dry skin & this method really does help to relieve the dryness.  In case you're wondering, "Oh gosh!! Such a waste!" A little of the lotion goes a long way.  Besides, this product is really not that expensive.  It retails for about $22.90 for a 170ml bottle.  Since i started using it last month, i've only used up about 1/10 of the product.

Gosh...!  Here's my moisturiser and sunblock crazy pooch!  Apart from food, skincare lotions are the next on Kimmie's list!  Whenever i apply ANY product on my arms or legs; even if she's asleep, she'll force herself to get up to lick some off me in spite of my strong resistance.  I really hope she'll kick this habit coz i'm paranoid about her getting poisoned!

you've just convinced me to buy it! Laughing out loud i have terribly dry skin on my body too. hope it'll work for me!

and my pooch LOVES to drink shower water. as in, after someone's taken a shower, she'll rush in and lap up all the soapy water! and if she walks into the loo and sees that the water has all dried up, she'll bark until someone switches the tap on for her.

A friend of mine left 2 durians on the dining table and then left for work. When he returned, he only found the husk left... apparently his pooch forced open the durian and devoured the fruit along with the seeds!!!!! gosh!

Thanks for sharing the mask tip! I've heard of using toner as a mask but I've never quite figured how to best do that. I've tried a sample of the Hado Labo Lotion and I must say I absolutely love it!

Hazel, I'm using the sake lotion from Daiso. It's one of the top 50 favourites among the Japanese girls in Popteen magazine. Hmmz maybe I should write a review about it!

hi hi Sara, i'm not sure why, but i really do prefer using the lotion as a mask as compared to the pre-packed mask sheets. Ever since i started on this, i've stopped buying pre-packed ones. Probably coz i like to DIY (",)

yeah, Candy.. i would love to see how the bottle looks like (",)

It does seem like a nice idea to be able to customize your own mask. I agree with what you said about pre-packed ones. They always come dripping with lotion that its hard to get it out that it sometimes gets messy.
